Job Descriptions:

Position Description:
The Motorcycle Repair Trainer is responsible for delivering hands-on technical and theoretical vocational training courses on motorcycle maintenance and repair applicable to the local labor market. The trainer will build the capacity of selected youth or vulnerable individuals, equipping them with employable skills to pursue livelihoods as mechanics or service providers. The training includes mechanical, electrical, and maintenance modules with job readiness support.

Key Responsibilities:

Training Delivery:

  • Conduct practical and theoretical training sessions on motorcycle repair and maintenance.
  • Teach topics such as:
    • Engine mechanics and troubleshooting
    • Electrical systems and wiring
    • Brake, clutch, and transmission systems
    • Oil changing, tuning, tire repair, etc.
  • Instruct on the safe use of tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Provide demonstrations and supervise hands-on practice.

Curriculum & Materials:

  • Develop or adapt training materials, lesson plans, and workshop exercises based on trainees’ level.
  • Ensure training content is relevant to local market needs and up-to-date with common motorcycle models.

Trainee Support & Supervision:

  • Monitor trainees’ attendance, performance, and progress.
  • Offer guidance and feedback during practical work.
  • Provide basic business or entrepreneurship tips (if part of program goals).

Workshop & Equipment Management:

  • Maintain tools, machinery, and equipment in the training workshop.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are followed.
  • Request materials and spare parts needed for training sessions.

Reporting & Coordination:

  • Maintain records of training delivery, attendance, and assessments.
  • Participate in team meetings, evaluations, and coordination with other trainers.
  • Assist with job placement or apprenticeship linkages (if applicable).
  • Support trainees in finding apprenticeships, internships, or starting their own service units.
  • Track skill acquisition and provide continuous feedback.

The post holder is required to carry out the tasks that are unforeseen issues and circumstances in relation to the project and should remain adaptable to perform responsibilities that may not be mentioned above as and when required.

Qualifications:

  • Technical certificate in mechanical/electrical systems or proven repair experience.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience in motorcycle repair and servicing.
  • Prior experience in training, coaching, or mentoring mechanics preferred.
  • Familiarity with common motorcycle brands/models used locally.
  • Basic understanding of adult learning principles.

Language Skills

  • Fluency in Dari/ Pashto or Uzbaki language skills (writing, speaking, reading and understanding)
