Job Descriptions:

The Field HER Project Manager will serve as the principal management link between the OPHCD Main Office and Khost Field Office, ensuring that strategic direction, technical guidance, operational support and organizational standards are effectively translated into field-level implementation. The position will provide day-to-day leadership, coordination, performance management and technical facilitation to the field team, while ensuring that specialized technical support from the Main Office is accessed and appropriately applied to achieve the project's goals and objectives.

Job Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Management, and  Management or a relevant field.
  • Master's degree in Public Health, Health Management, Project Management or related discipline is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 10–15 years of progressively responsible experience in health program/project management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing BPHS/EPHS or similar health-service delivery program.
  • Experience working with MoPH, UNICEF or other international donors/partners is highly desirable.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary field teams.
  • Experience in health-facility supervision and performance improvement.
  • Experience in project planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting.
  • Experience coordinating technical and operational support between field and main offices.
  • Experience working in Khost Province or similar operating environments is an advantage.

Language Requirements: 

  • Fluency in local language(s) (Dari and/or Pashto) required
  • Working knowledge of English preferred

Child Safeguarding and PSEA Commitment:

  • The post-holder must adhere to UNICEF and organizational Child Safeguarding and PSEA policies under HER-AF2. All PSEA allegations must be reported to UNICEF Afghanistan within 24 hours through agreed reporting lines. Failure to comply constitutes gross misconduct.
