In 1992 HealthNet TPO was established by ‘Doctors without Borders’ to bridge the gap between emergency aid and structural development. The organization is now the result of a merger between HealthNet International (HNI) and the Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO). HNI has knowledge and experience in reinforcing healthcare systems and prevention, diagnosis and treatment of transmissible diseases. TPO is an expert in the field of psychosocial and mental health care for survivors of war and natural disasters.  HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is managed by a team of qualified Afghans and supported by a team of experts at the HQ of the organization in Holland.

HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. HealthNet TPO is currently implementing projects in almost 20 provinces of Afghanistan and the major program it implements are HER (Health Emergency Response) projects in three provinces, Nutrition, Mental Health and Psychosocial, Malaria Control program, Tuberculus....... through a community system strengthening approach.

HealthNet TPO has a zero tolerance toward sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse. HNITPO takes seriously all concerns and complaints about sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse involving HNITPO employees and Related Personnel.

Job Descriptions:
  • Enter Eye OT data into relevant databases on a regular basis.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports on the Eye Care Ward and OT.
  • Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and integrity across the Eye Ward records.
  • Develop and update data visualizations of project activities monthly.
  • Identify and report any data entry issues (e.g., missing forms or incomplete data) and liaise with the HMIS team for resolution.
  • Track project activities and monitor progress against indicator targets to ensure achievements remain on track.
  • Conduct root cause analysis with Eye Ward staff to address backlogs and implement corrective solutions.
  • Review registers and data collection tools to ensure proper completion and maintenance.
  • File and securely store all hard copy data forms for audit and verification purposes.
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing systems for the Eye Ward.
  • Prepare pharmaceutical purchasing requests for the Eye Ward based on available balances and needs, in coordination with ophthalmologists and the pharmacy team.
  • Submit monthly pharmacy consumption reports in collaboration with the pharmacy team.
  • Perform regular database backups to safeguard information.
  • Support CSOM reporting requirements.
  • Track and report on minimum standards compliance.
  • Maintain effective working relations with the wider project team.
  • Provide regular feedback to the team to improve data quality.
  • Retrieve, extract, and tabulate data from databases as requested by management.
  • Document project activities through photography and provide success stories on a regular basis.
  • Assist project monitors and evaluators during monitoring and evaluation exercises.
  • Develop and follow up on corrective action plans in coordination with hospital staff for identifying findings.
  • Support project activities outside the hospital, including outreach camps, primary health care facility training, and supply management.
  • Assist Eye Ward staff and hospital HMIS in their respective duties.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the line manager
Job Requirements:
  • Graduate from a recognized eye technician faculty with experience in eye health care and HMIS/data management.  
  • Have Minimum 2 years’ experience in eye health care data entry/dhis2 
  • Computer skills (ability to work with Word and Excel, and Power Point)
  • Fluency in Pashto / Dari with adequate knowledge of written and spoken English.
  • Punctual, accurate and honest
