Job Descriptions:

The Monitoring and Evaluation for Accountability and Learning Assistant is a member of the MEAL team based in Herat, reporting to the MEAL Officer. The Role of MEAL Assistant is to ensure all MEAL responsibilities are performed to the highest standards and according to donor and CWSA guidelines.  The post-holder also assumes communication and visibility responsibilities for Herat projects.  The MEAL Assistant will be responsible for all data collection and collation for CWSA’s Programs.  He will be in regular contact with field staff to monitor the collection of data and ensure accuracy and timeliness.  Furthermore, he will contribute to weekly/monthly progress and implementation reports under the supervision of the MEAL Officer.

Job Requirements:

For the post of MEAL Assistant, a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university and minimum 2 years of experience in the development sector is considered necessary.

Monitoring and Evaluation for Accountability and Learning Support:

·        Assist in the process of rolling out monitoring and evaluation tools to the field and provide field teams with technical support in implementation. This includes supporting and facilitating training workshops for field staff on monitoring, evaluation, accountability and Learning.

·        Monitor project outputs track progress towards indicators and capture case studies and stories from the field.

·        Supervise and train data collectors and enumerators to ensure high-quality data capture.

·        Provide reliable and effective data collection, administration, information management and filing support to the MEAL department.

·        Manage information requests from external partners including the Cluster and sub-clusters.

·        Conduct regular field visits to monitor program implementation as well as assist teams with monitoring, evaluation, and reporting and information management.

·        Provide data and information for writing the project internal narrative reports.

·        Support donor liaison and answer any queries where necessary.

Undertake other tasks reasonably expected of her/him by the Supervisor.
