Key Responsibilities:
Surveying & Data Collection:
• Conduct topographic, boundary, and construction surveys using modern surveying equipment (DGPS-Total Station- GPS, Level Machine).
• Collect, record, and analyze field data including elevations, coordinates, and site conditions.
• Establish and maintain survey control points and benchmarks.
Setting Out / Layout Works:
• Perform accurate setting out of irrigation structures, pipelines, canals, reservoirs, and related infrastructure.
• Transfer design data from drawings to the field with high precision.
• Mark alignments, levels, and reference points for construction teams.
Leveling and Gradient Control:
• Ensure proper leveling and grading for canals, pipelines, and drainage systems.
• Verify slope requirements to ensure efficient water flow and system performance.
• Monitor excavation and filling works to maintain design elevations.
Technical Support to Engineering Team:
• Assist engineers in interpreting drawings and technical specifications.
• Provide accurate survey data to support design modifications and decision-making.
• Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and contractors.
Quality Control & Compliance:
• Verify that construction works are carried out according to approved drawings and specifications.
• Conduct regular site checks and report deviations or discrepancies.
• Support quality assurance procedures and documentation.
As-Built Survey & Documentation:
• Perform as-built surveys upon completion of works.
• Prepare and submit accurate as-built drawings and reports.
• Maintain organized records of survey data and field notes.
Reporting & Coordination:
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly survey reports.
• Communicate progress, issues, and technical findings to the Construction Engineer.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of the project.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of proven work experience in construction projects.
• Strong practical experience in the operation and application of DGPS, Total Station, Level machine, and GPS equipment.
• familiarity with Water GEMS software alongside AutoCAD
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
1. Professional Experience:
• Minimum 3 years of proven experience in surveying for construction, irrigation, or infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated experience in topographic surveys, construction layout (setting out), and as-built surveys.
• Hands-on experience working with canals, pipelines, reservoirs, drainage systems, and related civil works.
• Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings and accurately transfer design data to the field.
• Experience in leveling, traversing, and establishing control points and benchmarks.
• Familiarity with quality control procedures and ensuring compliance with project specifications.
• Experience working with contractors, engineers, and field teams in multidisciplinary environments.
• Prior experience in NGO, donor-funded, or government projects is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of:
o Topographic surveying.
o Leveling and contouring.
o Traversing and coordinate systems.
o Setting out and alignment control.
• Ability to prepare and interpret:
o Survey reports.
o Field notes.
o As-built drawings.
• Proficiency in software:
o AutoCAD (essential).
o MS Office (Excel, Word).
