Job Descriptions:

Job Purpose:

The Technical Polio Officer and Trainer will oversee the day-to-day implementation of the CDC project in line with IMC standards and the project scope of work.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Act according to IMC organization policies and procedures.
  • Plan and oversee the implementation of all the project activities within.
  • Conduct regular supportive supervision and monitoring of health activities/Outreach Teams.
  • Support in capacity building of the field staff based on Training Need Assessment (TNA) to identify training needs/gaps and conduct regular refresher and job training sessions.
  • Collect and compile MIAR and other reports and provide feedback to the HFs.
  • Regular submission of health and fulfillment of health data entry in online databases.
  • Regular submission of weekly, biweekly, and monthly health reports according to the stipulated deadlines.
  • Development and maintenance of a health filing system at the provincial and health facility levels, ensuring that accurate beneficiary records are maintained.
  • Ensure proper filling of OPD, ANC, PNC, EPI OPD registers, and referral forms, and that anthropometric and nutritional data are entered correctly. 
  • Ensure that the health facilities keep an updated stock of all essential supplies and requisitions for health and nutrition supplies are made in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the EPI activities of the project in each province.
  • Ensure the HF/outreach team has functional and proper vaccination services.
  • Ensure that all vaccine supplies are available in each HF/outreach team
  • Supervise, evaluate, and follow up on the activity and output of vaccinators in all HFs/Ots
  • Ensure vaccination reports are prepared properly and submitted timely.
  • Specific focus on maintaining the cold chain of vaccines and requisition receiving and supply procedures and recording documents as per National EPI and other MoPH-related guidelines and policies.                      
  • Ensure the follow-up of attendance and the punctuality of staff across all HSCs
  • Represent International Medical Corps in all health meetings with MOPH, PHCC, PPHD, and partners at the districts and provincial level.
  • Monitor trends and update the manager/coordinator on areas of concern.
  • Identify procurement needs and raise procurement requests on time for the HSCs/OTs.
  • Manage health commodities (Drugs, nutrition commodities, NFIs, items for food demonstrations).
  • Perform other duties assigned by the line manager.
  • Oversee pharmaceutical supplies consumption to ensure Rational Use of Drugs , report, stock cards, and requests.
  • Plan seminars on various health topics e.g., HMIS, TOT, management, supervision, and monitoring, etc.

Competency:

  1. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
  2. Conversant with Health Information Management Systems
  3. The candidate must have strong command in English, Dari and Pashto Languages.
  4. Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
