- At least 2–3 years of proven experience as a cook (experience in NGO/INGO offices, guesthouses, or health projects preferred).
- Basic literacy (able to read/write in Pashto/Dari) and knowledge of food preparation, hygiene, and nutrition.
- Good knowledge of kitchen safety, food storage, and basic hygiene practices.
- Efficiency, result-oriented, and good organizational capabilities; ability to work under pressure and in a team; attention to detail and cleanliness; cross-cultural and gender sensitivity; ability to work long hours when needed; respect the confidentiality of the organization.
Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse:
Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within YAAR and amongst beneficiaries served by YAAR.
