OCCD works in partnership with Government, development and implementing partners in Health, Education, Agriculture and Livestock, Research and Development

 
Job Descriptions:

1. Planning and Coordination

  • Develop and update the EPI micro‑plans for all health facilities under the project.
  • Participate in all provincial‑level coordination meetings related to EPI activities.
  • Coordinate closely with health facilities, community structures, and relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of immunization services.

2. Supervision and Support

  • Provide regular supervision and technical support to EPI vaccinators across all health facilities.
  • Ensure vaccinators follow MoPH guidelines, safety protocols, and reporting standards.
  • Monitor the implementation of weekly and monthly immunization schedules.

3. Reporting and Documentation

  • Collect, review, and compile monthly and quarterly EPI reports from all health facilities.
  • Submit consolidated reports to the Health Manager in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and updated EPI records, including coverage data, vaccine utilization, and cold chain monitoring logs.
  • Record and report measles cases and other vaccine‑preventable diseases as required.

4. Training and Capacity Building

  • Facilitate and support training sessions on vaccine‑preventable diseases and EPI protocols.
  • Provide feedback to the Project Manager on training needs, progress, and field observations.
  • Support on‑the‑job coaching for vaccinators and community health workers.

5. Community Engagement

  • Conduct community awareness sessions on vaccine‑preventable diseases, immunization benefits, and infection prevention.
  • Lead community mobilization activities to increase vaccination uptake.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, elders, and local influencers.

6. Vaccine and Cold Chain Management

  • Ensure timely distribution of vaccines to all health facilities.
  • Monitor cold chain equipment and ensure temperatures are checked and recorded twice daily.
  • Oversee vaccine forecasting, storage, stock management, and proper documentation.
  • Ensure safe handling and administration of vaccines in line with MoPH standards.

7. Service Delivery Oversight

  • Support and monitor the delivery of immunization services through:
    • Static vaccination sessions at health facilities
    • Outreach activities in communities
    • Mass vaccination campaigns
  • Ensure immunization services are delivered safely to infants, children, and adults.

8. Information Sharing

  • Ensure timely sharing of accurate, up‑to‑date information with the Health Manager and project team.

Contribute regularly to clinic and project reports as required.

 
Job Requirements:
  • 5 years’ experience in similar role with a valid Vaccinator training Certificate
  • Working experience with NNGO and INGOs in EPI services delivery
  • Qualified health professional with solid background in primary and community health care
  • Familiarity with national vaccine schedule and cold chain guidelines
  • Excellent understanding of broad health issues within community
  • Strong understanding of community, culture and customs
  • Good understanding of local humanitarian context Fluency in local language. 
  • Able to effective engage with the local community, including children
  • Able to keep accurate records
  • Able to establish good working relationships and positively contribute to a team
  • Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles
