Facility Security and Access Control
· Maintain security of the SHC premises, staff, patients, equipment, medicines, and other assets.
· Monitor and control access to the health facility and restrict unauthorized entry.
· Maintain orderly movement of patients and visitors within the facility.
· Immediately report security incidents, threats, suspicious activities, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
Cleaning and Hygiene
· Maintain cleanliness of consultation rooms, waiting areas, toilets, corridors, compound, and other facility areas.
· Conduct regular cleaning and disinfection of high-touch surfaces and designated areas.
· Ensure cleaning activities are performed according to facility hygiene and IPC procedures.
· Keep the facility environment clean, safe, and welcoming for patients and staff.
Healthcare Waste Management
· Collect, segregate, and dispose of healthcare waste according to established waste-management procedures.
· Ensure proper separation of general, infectious, and sharps waste in designated containers.
· Never handle or dispose of sharps or hazardous waste improperly.
· Report damaged, overflowing, or incorrectly used waste containers to the responsible staff.
Infection Prevention and Control (IPC)
· Follow basic IPC measures while performing cleaning and waste-management duties.
· Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during cleaning and waste handling.
· Maintain proper hand hygiene and safe cleaning practices.
· Immediately report spills, contamination, or other IPC risks to the supervisor.
Facility and Compound Maintenance
· Keep the facility compound, entrances, pathways, and surrounding areas clean and free from hazards.
· Support basic facility arrangements, including cleaning and preparation of rooms and service areas.
· Report damaged doors, windows, locks, water systems, electrical systems, furniture, or other infrastructure concerns.
· Support prevention of environmental hazards such as standing water, waste accumulation, and blocked drainage.
Patient Safety and Support
· Maintain a safe and organized environment for patients, caregivers, and staff.
· Support orderly patient flow without interfering with clinical decisions or patient confidentiality.
· Provide respectful and non-discriminatory assistance to patients and visitors when required.
· Give priority assistance to vulnerable patients when appropriate, while referring clinical needs to health staff.
Support to Health Facility Operations
· Assist health facility staff with non-clinical tasks related to daily facility operations.
· Prepare and clean designated areas before and after health activities, meetings, or outreach services.
· Support the arrangement and movement of non-medical supplies and equipment when requested.
· Perform other appropriate duties assigned by the Health Facility In-Charge.
Professional Conduct and Confidentiality
· Treat patients, caregivers, community members, and staff with respect and dignity.
· Maintain confidentiality and never disclose patient or facility-related information without authorization.
· Maintain professional behavior and avoid discrimination, harassment, or inappropriate conduct.
· Follow organizational policies, code of conduct, safeguarding, PSEA, and security procedures.
Emergency and Incident Response
· Support facility security and cleanliness during emergencies, outbreaks, and other unexpected events.
· Immediately inform the Health Facility In-Charge of accidents, injuries, security incidents, fire, or other emergencies.
· Assist with safe evacuation and crowd management when instructed.
· Maintain access to emergency exits and ensure pathways remain clear.
Reporting and Coordination
· Report daily cleaning, security, maintenance, and waste-management concerns to the supervisor as required.
· Coordinate with health facility staff to ensure uninterrupted and safe service delivery.
· Maintain assigned cleaning and security duties according to the facility schedule.
· Participate in relevant facility meetings, orientations, and training sessions when requested
