Position Summary
The Business/Marketing Skills Trainer will be responsible for designing, organizing, and delivering business development, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, marketing, and market linkage training to project beneficiaries, including women, youth, returnees, IDPs, self-help groups (SHGs), cooperatives, and small business owners. The trainer will support beneficiaries in developing sustainable businesses, improving marketing skills, increasing access to markets, and strengthening income-generating opportunities across the Southeast Region.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Training Delivery and Facilitation
ü Conduct training sessions on business development, entrepreneurship, and marketing skills.
ü Deliver participatory and practical training using adult-learning methodologies.
ü Develop training schedules and work plans in coordination with project staff.
ü Ensure quality and effectiveness of all training activities.
ü Conduct refresher and follow-up training sessions when required.
2. Business Development Training
ü Train beneficiaries on:
- Business planning
- Business startup and management
- Entrepreneurship development
- Customer service
- Business growth strategies
- Record keeping and bookkeeping
- Costing and pricing
- Business risk management
ü Support participants in preparing business plans and business improvement plans.
3. Marketing Skills Development
ü Deliver training on:
- Basic marketing concepts
- Market research and analysis
- Product promotion and advertising
- Branding and packaging
- Customer relationship management
- Sales techniques and negotiation skills
- Digital and social media marketing (where applicable)
ü Help beneficiaries identify target markets and marketing opportunities.
4. Financial Literacy and Financial Management
ü Conduct financial literacy training covering:
- Household budgeting
- Savings and investment
- Financial planning
- Loan management
- Cash flow management
- Business financial records
ü Promote financial inclusion through savings groups and community-based financial initiatives.
5. Market Linkages and Business Networking
ü Support beneficiaries in accessing local and regional markets.
ü Facilitate business-to-business meetings and networking opportunities.
ü Identify potential buyers, traders, wholesalers, and service providers.
ü Assist beneficiaries in improving product quality to meet market demands.
ü Promote market-oriented business practices.
6. Women's Economic Empowerment
ü Encourage women's participation in business and entrepreneurship activities.
ü Deliver gender-sensitive training programs.
ü Support women-owned enterprises and women's self-help groups.
ü Build women's confidence, leadership, and decision-making skills related to business activities.
7. Monitoring and Reporting
ü Conduct pre- and post-training assessments.
ü Monitor participant progress and training outcomes.
ü Maintain training attendance records and documentation.
ü Prepare training reports, activity reports, and success stories.
ü Provide recommendations for improving future training programs.
8. Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement
ü Coordinate training activities with project teams and local stakeholders.
ü Work closely with community leaders, cooperatives, SHGs, and government departments.
ü Participate in coordination meetings and project review sessions.
ü Support awareness campaigns and business promotion events.
