It has delivered more than 119 projects worth over USD 69 million across 31 provinces in health, nutrition, WASH, food security, agriculture, livelihoods, protection, and climate resilience. ORCD employs around 1,800 staff, at least 30% of them women, and is an implementing partner for nine UN agencies.

 

Job Descriptions:

We are inviting CVs for the position of Livelihoods and Enterprise Development Specialist to lead the livelihoods and agri-business component of a rural development program in Badakhshan and Kunar. The role will design and oversee income-generation, climate-smart agriculture, and small enterprise interventions that respond to community priorities. The specialist will develop technical packages for livelihood activities, guide the selection of beneficiaries, and build market linkages that improve household income and resilience. The role will lead training and capacity building for producers and small businesses, and will work with the field team to sequence activities realistically within the implementation period. The specialist will also track results, support evidence collection, and ensure that women participate meaningfully in livelihood opportunities. Practical knowledge of rural value chains and the ability to translate plans into household-level results will be essential.

 

Job Requirements:

Candidates must hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree in agriculture, economics, livelihoods, or a related discipline. A minimum of 5 years of experience in livelihood programming and enterprise development is required. Applicants must show experience in climate-smart agriculture, income generation, and market linkages. Proven experience in training and capacity building is essential. Familiarity with rural value chains, producer groups, and small enterprise support in Afghanistan is an advantage. Fluency in Pashto and Dari is required, and proficiency in oral and written English is required. Candidates should be able to design practical, costed interventions, deliver them on a tight schedule, and support inclusive participation, including measurable engagement of women, in remote and resource-constrained settings.
