The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management, coordination, and successful implementation of the School Feeding Project in Nuristan province funded by WFP. The role includes planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting of all project activities while ensuring compliance with donor requirements and organizational policies. The Project Manager will lead the project team, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure timely and quality delivery of school feeding services to beneficiaries.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management & Implementation
• Lead the overall implementation of the school feeding project in accordance with approved plans, timelines, and budgets.
• Develop detailed work plans, activity schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
• Ensure timely and efficient delivery of food assistance to targeted schools and beneficiaries.
• Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure objectives are achieved.
• Ensure integration of cross-cutting issues such as gender, protection, and inclusion.
Team Management & Supervision
• Supervise and manage project staff including field officers, community mobilizers, and support staff.
• Provide regular guidance, coaching, and performance monitoring of team members.
• Organize regular team meetings and ensure effective internal communication.
• Promote a positive and professional working environment.
Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement
• Maintain strong coordination with WFP, relevant government departments, school authorities, and community leaders.
• Represent SSEOA in coordination meetings, clusters, and relevant forums.
• Ensure strong collaboration with local stakeholders for smooth implementation.
• Facilitate donor visits, assessments, and monitoring missions.
Monitoring, Reporting & Documentation
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of high-quality reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and donor reports).
• Monitor project performance against indicators and targets.
• Oversee data collection, verification, and documentation processes.
• Ensure proper documentation of lessons learned, success stories, and best practices.
Financial & Logistics Oversight
• Oversee project budget utilization and ensure expenditures are within approved limits.
• Coordinate with finance and logistics teams for procurement, food distribution, and asset management.
• Ensure transparent and accountable use of project resources.
• Monitor supply chain processes related to food distribution.
Compliance & Safeguarding
• Ensure compliance with WFP guidelines, donor regulations, and SSEOA policies.
• Uphold safeguarding, child protection, and Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) standards.
• Ensure accountability to affected populations (AAP) and proper handling of complaints and feedback mechanisms.
• Report any incidents, risks, or compliance issues promptly.
