Nutrition and Education International (NEI) introduced soybean cultivation and home consumption in Afghanistan in 2003 as a practical and sustainable source of protein to address protein-energy malnutrition (PEM). PEM remains a significant contributing factor to some of the highest mortality rates globally among children under five, as well as among women and infants during childbirth. To date, NEI has trained over 135,000 Afghan farmers in soybean cultivation across more than 4,900 rural villages in 31 provinces nationwide.
NEI is continuing its efforts to develop a sustainable soybean production sector and is looking for a professional, dependable, and disciplined driver to support its operations by ensuring safe, prompt, and efficient transportation of staff and materials in line with organizational policies and procedures.
