2. Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Technical Duties
- Prepare and review SLDs, layouts, control schemes, protection logic, and cable schedules.
- Specify equipment such as transformers, breakers, isolators, CTs, VTs, switchgear, and control panels.
- Work with SCADA teams for RTU integration.
- Conduct load flow, short-circuit, and protection coordination studies.

Design, review, and supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical substations (HV/MV/LV).

Ensure proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of substation equipment including transformers, switchgear, protection systems, and control panels.

Prepare and review technical drawings, single-line diagrams, protection schemes, and technical specifications.

Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability and safety.

Analyze faults and disturbances, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and project teams during construction and operational phases.

Ensure compliance with national and international electrical standards, safety regulations, and project requirements.

Monitor substation performance and prepare technical reports and documentation.

Support protection, relay coordination, and SCADA integration activities.

Provide technical guidance and on-site supervision to technicians and junior engineers.

Participate in system upgrades, rehabilitation, and expansion of substations.

Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies at all times
Project Implementation & Supervision
- Oversee installation, testing, commissioning of substation equipment.
- Supervise contractors and ensure compliance.
- Inspect civil and electrical works.
Quality, Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, NEC, and DABS standards.
- Maintain documentation including FAT, SAT, method statements, test reports.
- Prepare progress reports and site assessments.
