Purpose:
To plan, direct, manage, and oversee Roads Project and Structures. He will provide overall projects related information and support to the Project Management Team.
Specific Objectives and Duties:
The Project Manager will perform the following duties:
1) To Develop and implement the project management plan (PMP) for the Construction/monitoring of Road Projects. The PMP should include management of scope, budget, schedule, resources, risk, quality, communications and procurement.
2) To manage the project staff, supervise all project employees.
3) To be able to work with ministry of public work and Afgchain on any potential and coming right of way issues and have friendly relationship with community along the project.
4) To be aware and well coordinate any other government entities related issue and resolve the issue on timely manner.
5) To review and manage complete set of plans, specifications, scope of work, and bill of quantities.
6) To prepare contract modification scopes as may be required during the project construction phase.
7) Responsible for project documentation. Prepare and deliver daily, monthly, quarterly or any other contractually required progress report and submit it to client for review and approval
8) To ensure project execution is in strict compliance with the quality standards and specifications and that all construction is performed in accordance with the project specification.
10) Manage the production and delivery of all project deliverables.
11) Assure that all as-built documents and other closeout documents are prepared and delivered as required.
12) To monitor, supervise and manage the daily activities of the construction projects.
13) To provide on time solution for construction or other related problematic issues rise at the project sites
14) To participate and lead the construction projects of the company in donor meetings on behalf of MECC.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Project Manager will have direct supervision of all project engineers and site staff of the company.
Reporting:
The Project Manager will report to the Director of Project Management.
Academic Qualifications
BSc. degree in Civil Engineering preferred Master degree with extensive working experience of Road construction and project management. Master degree will be given an advantage.
Work Experience:
At least 12 years work experience in construction of similar nature project management field, preferably with working with international donor-funded projects and Governments, on relevant programs in Afghanistan.
