About AWEC:

AWEC is a non-political, non-profit, woman-headed national organization established in 1991 by a group of educated Afghan women in exile, who rallied together to address the lack of facilities for Afghan refugees in Islamabad and eventually Peshawar, in Pakistan. AWEC has always been involved in advocacy and awareness-raising for women and children’s rights while providing services to those who frequently fall through safety nets. In recent years, one of AWEC’s core activities has been to support women through mobilizing Afghans, from local communities to political elites, towards the goal of reducing and eventually eliminating violence against women.

Job Descriptions:

The HR Intern will assist the HR department in administrative and coordination tasks, supporting recruitment, documentation, and staff engagement activities to enhance organizational effectiveness.

The incumbent will be provided with an opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in key operational areas and will assist the relevant department in day-to-day activities in the meantime. The intern will also enhance their professional skills and develop a deeper understanding of organizational operations.

The intern will be provided with work certificates for the subject period and will be encouraged for the upcoming/ future vacant positions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in posting job advertisements and managing applicant tracking.
  • Support the organization of staff orientation and training sessions.
  • Maintain and update employee records and files.
  • Assist in record keeping and achieving activities.
  • Help prepare HR reports and documentation.
  • Coordinate scheduling and communication for HR-related meetings.
  • Support staff welfare and engagement activities.
  • Support in capacity development and training sessions.
  • Assist in monitoring compliance with HR policies.
  • Respond to routine staff inquiries and provide information.
Job Requirements:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (ongoing or freshly graduated) in HR Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, computer science, social science and/ or a related field.

No Experience is required for this role. However, strong generic knowledge of the HR will be a strong plus.

Knowledge and Skills:

Smartness and active listener.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
