Job Purpose:
The CBNI Master Trainer is responsible for building the capacity of field-level staff, community volunteers, and local stakeholders in Community-Based Nutrition Initiatives (CBNI). The role focuses on training, mentoring, and technically supporting the effective implementation of community-based nutrition activities to reduce malnutrition among vulnerable populations, especially women and children under five.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Capacity Building and Training
- Design, organize, and deliver CBNI training sessions for staff, community health workers (CHWs), and local authorities.
- Ensure all trainings are in line with national guidelines and donor requirements.
- Develop training materials, manuals, and job aids tailored to local context and language.
- Provide refresher trainings and continuous technical mentoring to field facilitators.
2. Technical Support and Quality Assurance
- Support the implementation of CBNI activities (e.g., growth monitoring, IYCF promotion, cooking demonstrations, MUAC screening).
- Conduct regular field visits to assess the quality of CBNI interventions and provide on-the-job coaching.
- Ensure the standardization and quality of messaging around nutrition, hygiene, and health practices.
3. Coordination and Representation
- Work closely with project managers, nutrition officers, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated programming.
- Coordinate with the Ministry of Public Health, community councils, and other local partners to align training and program strategies.
- Represent the organization at cluster coordination meetings and technical working groups related to community-based nutrition.
4. Monitoring and Reporting
- Develop training reports, pre/post-test evaluations, and training impact assessments.
- Monitor the performance of trained facilitators and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Contribute to donor reports, work plans, and proposal development as required.
