General Requirements/Responsibilities:
· Recorders must be able to read and write well, and have excellent attention to detail.
· Fluency in the local language
· Working knowledge of English language
· know how to interact well with residents of rural communities and understand the importance of greetings.
· Good interpersonal communication with community leaders and residents
· Be physically fit and able to walk long distances and work long hours in the field.
· Must have prior experience with smartphones.
· Field experience in data collection and data entry is useful.
· Be able to use android and be familiar with data collection tools, ODK
Specific Requirements/Responsibilities:
· Obtain consent from the head of household and eligible participants before data collection.
· Enter required information (recorder ID, cluster ID, age, sex, household ID, etc.) accurately into the Tropical data application.
· Record household and members’ information accurately.
· Ensure that GPS coordinates are captured correctly.
· Complete the cluster form then household form after selecting of a household.
· Recording of the WASH data in the household questionnaire and trachoma grading data in the resident questionnaire.
· At the end of each day, follow the absentees and complete the absent return questionnaire
· Help the grader to follow the sequence of the questionnaire and to not miss any part of it.
· Write additional comments in the relevant sections if needed.
· Observe and verify the WASH facilities based on questionnaire and ensure data quality and validity.
· Ensure full charge and extra power source for the mobile phone charging to prevent obstacles in the data entry and teamwork.
· Proper maintenance and safety of the data entry tools.
· At the end of each interview/grading, ensure that all questions are answered and recorded properly.
· Support grader and DBS collector to ensure teamwork in the field.
· Timely report and share the data collection technical problem with team leader/supervisor.
· Ensure data security, privacy, and integrity of the clients. The data must not be shared with any outsider.
· At the end of each day submit all verified and saved forms to the Tropical Data System
· Participate in all required training sessions, simulation exercises, and daily debriefings.
· Comply with infection prevention and control measures and other safety protocols during fieldwork.
