Job Descriptions:

The CHS is responsible for supervising and supporting Community Health Workers (CHWs), monitoring the implementation and quality of community-based health activities, and ensuring that services are delivered effectively in accordance with project guidelines. The CHS conducts regular field visits, provides technical guidance and on-the-job support, reviews CHW performance, registers, reports, and data for accuracy and completeness, and identifies gaps requiring corrective action. The position also coordinates closely with Health Facilities, program teams, community leaders, and other relevant stakeholders; monitors the availability and appropriate use of community health supplies; supports referrals and follow-up of community health cases; and ensures timely submission of accurate supervision and activity reports to management.

Duties & Responsiblity:

  • Supervise and support Community Health Workers (CHWs) in assigned areas.
  • Conduct regular field visits and monitor CHW performance.
  • Ensure proper implementation of community-based health activities.
  • Monitor health education, awareness, and community mobilization activities.
  • Review CHW registers, reports, and submitted data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify gaps and provide technical guidance and on-the-job support.
  • Coordinate with Health Facilities and relevant program staff.
  • Monitor availability and proper use of community health supplies and materials.
  • Support referral and follow-up of patients and community health cases.
  • Prepare and submit regular supervision and monitoring reports.
  • Ensure compliance with project guidelines, standards, and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain good communication with community leaders and relevant stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
  • 14 Degree or 16 Degree (Medical Studies)  from a recognized Institutions.
  • At least 2 years of relevant clinical experience preferred.
  • Good knowledge of BPHS services and national treatment protocols.
  • Experience in primary healthcare services preferred.
  • Basic computer and reporting skills are an advantage.
  • Clinical diagnosis and patient management skills.
  • Communication and counseling abilities.
  • Teamwork and coordination skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in remote settings.
  • Based at Ghanikhil DH & Agam DH Nangarhar Province.
  • Fluency in Pashto and/or Dari.
  • Basic English communication skills preferred.
