AAL is seeking a highly qualified, experienced, and results-oriented Finance Officer to join its Finance & Accounts team in Herat Province.
The Finance Officer will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing day-to-day financial transactions, supporting financial reporting and budgeting, ensuring compliance with applicable financial policies and regulations, and strengthening the company's financial control environment.
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate strong technical knowledge of finance and accounting, excellent analytical skills, professional integrity, and the ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with management and other departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and review day-to-day financial and accounting transactions in accordance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations.
- Review invoices, payment requests, receipts, supporting documents, and other financial records for completeness, accuracy, and proper authorization.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure timely recording of all financial transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management financial information.
- Perform regular bank, cash, receivable, payable, and other account reconciliations.
- Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash balances, and outstanding financial commitments.
- Support the preparation, monitoring, and analysis of departmental and organizational budgets.
- Analyze financial data and identify unusual transactions, variances, errors, and potential financial risks.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records for management review and audit purposes.
- Support internal and external audit processes and provide required financial information and documentation.
- Monitor compliance with approved financial policies, procedures, internal controls, and applicable tax requirements.
- Coordinate with procurement, HR, administration, operations, and other departments on financial matters.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of financial and company information.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting systems, and internal controls.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management when required.
- Perform other finance-related duties assigned by the management.
