1. About BFCS

Bright Future Consulting Service (BFCS) is a Kabul-based consulting firm established in 2011, providing monitoring and evaluation (M&E), third-party monitoring (TPM), research, surveys, and capacity development services across Afghanistan. BFCS maintains a nationwide roster of trained enumerators and field data collectors to support data collection assignments for humanitarian and development partners in all 34 provinces.

3. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct household, individual, or key informant interviews using paper-based or digital (KoboToolbox/tablet-based) data collection tools, under the supervision of the assigned Team Leader/Supervisor.

• Administer questionnaires accurately, completely, and in accordance with the survey protocol and sampling instructions.

• Ensure informed consent is obtained from all respondents prior to data collection, and that all data protection and safeguarding protocols are followed.

• Conduct interviews in the local language(s) of the assigned province/district (Dari, Pashto, or other relevant local languages).

• Submit completed questionnaires/data to the Field Supervisor daily, and participate in daily debriefs and data quality checks.

• Travel to assigned sampling points/clusters within the designated province and adhere to the agreed field schedule.

• Maintain strict confidentiality of respondent information and comply with BFCS's code of conduct and child/vulnerable-person safeguarding policy.

• Report any access, security, or ethical concerns encountered in the field to the Supervisor immediately.

4. Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree required (minimum qualification).

• At least 2 years of relevant experience as an enumerator, data collector, or surveyor with an NGO, UN agency, research firm, or government entity.

• Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.

• Demonstrated experience using KoboToolbox and/or other digital data collection platforms.

• Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto; working knowledge of the local dialect of the assigned province is required.

• Intermediate or above English proficiency (spoken and written).

• Resident of, or currently based in, the province/district being applied for, with familiarity of the local area.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact respectfully and neutrally with diverse community members.

• Willingness to travel within the assigned province and to work in rural/hard-to-reach areas.

• Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply, particularly given the requirement to interview female respondents in line with cultural norms.

5. Application as Mahram Couples

Recognizing the cultural and access requirements of fieldwork in Afghanistan — particularly the need for female enumerators to reach female respondents — BFCS welcomes applications from Mahram couples (i.e., legally and religiously recognized spouses, or other Mahram relations as defined under applicable cultural and religious norms) who wish to be deployed jointly as a male-female enumerator pair for the same assignment. When applying as a couple:

• Select "Mahram Couple" on the online application form and provide both applicants' details in the same submission, indicating the relationship between them.

• Each individual must independently meet the minimum qualifications listed in Section 4.

• Documentation confirming the Mahram relationship may be requested during screening.

Individual applicants (not applying as a couple) are equally welcome and will be considered on the same basis.
