Job Description:

The M&E Officer will be responsible for planning, supervising, and ensuring quality data collection, including house-to-house assessments for beneficiary selection. The role also includes monitoring overall project activities to ensure they are implemented according to plans and standards. The assignment will be carried out in close coordination with the project team and field staff. The M&E Officer will ensure data accuracy, proper documentation, and timely reporting in line with project requirements.

 Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive M&E plans, frameworks, tools, and performance indicators in line with project objectives and donor requirements
  • Lead and oversee field monitoring activities, including data collection, verification, and regular field visits to ensure quality implementation
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data through regular data quality checks, validation, and cleaning processes
  • Establish and maintain effective data management systems, including databases and tracking tools
  • Prepare high-quality weekly, monthly, and quarterly progress reports, as well as donor reports, ensuring timely submission
  • Support baseline, midline, and end line assessments, evaluations, and learning activities
  • Analyze data and generate evidence-based insights to support program improvement and decision-making
  • Coordinate closely with program and field teams to ensure proper use of M&E tools and adherence to reporting standards
  • Provide technical support and capacity building to field staff on M&E processes and tools
  • Monitor overall project activities to ensure alignment with plans, targets, and quality standards
  • Document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories for reporting and knowledge sharing
Job Requirements:

3 years of relevant experience with national and international organization

Strong reporting and analytical skills

Knowledge of data collection tools

Fluency in Pashto/Dari; English preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) principles and practices
  • Proven skills in data collection, analysis, and interpretation using tools such as Kobo, ODK, and Excel
  • Ability to ensure data quality, verification, and proper documentation
  • Strong report writing and analytical skills, with attention to detail
  • Good communication and coordination skills with field teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto; working knowledge of English is an advantage
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to confidentiality
