About Afghan Children & Support Organization (ACWSO):

Afghan Children and Women Support Organization (ACWSO) is a national non-profit NGO established in 2016 and registered with the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan. The organization is committed to empowering vulnerable communities, with focus on women, children, youth, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and returnees. 

ACWSO delivers targeted interventions across a wide range of thematic areas, including health, nutrition, psychosocial support, Physiotherapy re-habitation and community awareness, as well as women’s empowerment, education, livelihoods, agriculture, environment, climate change, WASH, protection, community development, and humanitarian response. These programs aim to address urgent needs, enhance resilience, and promote sustainable development in marginalized and underserved communities throughout Afghanistan.

Job Descriptions:

The Community Outreach Officer is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with communities, local leaders, stakeholders, and beneficiaries. The officer supports the implementation of community-based activities by conducting awareness sessions, mobilizing participants, identifying vulnerable individuals, collecting community feedback, and ensuring effective communication between the organization and the target population.

Job Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement

Build and maintain positive relationships with community members, local authorities, religious leaders, and community representatives.

Conduct community meetings, awareness campaigns, and information sessions.

Mobilize beneficiaries to participate in project activities.

Promote community participation and ownership of project interventions.

 

 

Beneficiary Identification

Assist in identifying eligible beneficiaries according to project criteria.

Support registration and verification of beneficiaries.

Ensure fair, transparent, and inclusive beneficiary selection.

 

Awareness and Education

Deliver awareness sessions on project-related topics.

Distribute information, education, and communication (IEC) materials.

Explain available services and referral pathways to community members.

 

Monitoring and Feedback

Collect community feedback, complaints, and suggestions.

Report community concerns to the Program Manager.

Support accountability and feedback mechanisms.

Monitor community satisfaction with project activities.

 

Coordination

Coordinate with local government departments, health facilities, schools, community committees, and partner organizations.

Facilitate referrals to specialized services when needed.

Participate in coordination meetings and community events.

 

Reporting

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly outreach reports.

Maintain accurate records of outreach activities.

Document success stories, lessons learned, and challenges.

 

Compliance

Follow organizational policies, safeguarding standards, and the Code of Conduct.

Ensure confidentiality and protection of beneficiary information.

Languages

  • Fluent in Dari and/or Pashto
  • Professional proficiency in English

 

Working Conditions

  • Based in main office with frequent national travel.
  • High-level responsibility with potential extended working hours.

Required Qualifications

Diploma in Social science, Nursing, Physiotherapy, public health or related field.

At least 2 years of relevant experience in community outreach, humanitarian programs, or community mobilization.

Candidates for the Community outreach officer positions must be residents of Shakardara District. Applicants who are not residents of Shakardara District will not be shortlisted.

Experience working with NGOs or international organizations is preferred.
