Job Descriptions:

Job Summary:

The Social Workers/ Community Mobilizers is responsible for engaging and mobilizing communities to support the effective implementation of project activities. The position serves as the key liaison between the project team and target communities, facilitating community participation, conducting awareness sessions, supporting beneficiary identification, disseminating project information, collecting community feedback, and coordinating with local authorities and community leaders. The Social Workers/ Community Mobilizers  promotes community ownership, accountability, and inclusion while ensuring project activities are implemented in accordance with organizational policies, donor requirements, and humanitarian principles.

Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Mobilize and engage target communities to ensure active participation in project activities.

·       Conduct community awareness sessions and disseminate project-related information.

·       Coordinate with community leaders, local authorities, and other stakeholders to facilitate project implementation.

·       Support beneficiary identification, registration, verification, and selection in line with project criteria.

·       Organize and facilitate community meetings, consultations, and focus group discussions.

·       Promote the inclusion and participation of women, youth, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.

·       Collect community feedback, concerns, and complaints, and refer them through established accountability and feedback mechanisms.

·       Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities and identify community needs and implementation challenges.

·       Support data collection, surveys, assessments, and post-distribution monitoring as required.

·       Maintain accurate records of community activities and prepare timely field reports.

·       Raise community awareness on relevant project themes, including protection, gender equality, safeguarding, health, livelihoods, education, and life skills, as applicable.

·       Refer vulnerable individuals to appropriate project services or specialized support when needed.

·       Ensure compliance with organizational policies, safeguarding standards, humanitarian principles, and donor requirements.

  •             Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor to support effective project implementation.

 

Job Requirements:

Qualification:

·       Bachelor’s degree in social work, Social Science, Education, Community Development, or a related field, with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant professional experience.

·       A high school diploma with relevant experience may be considered.

 

Experience:

·       Experience in managing humanitarian or development projects, with a focus on youth development, migration, returnees, protection, or emergency response.

·       Strong experience in engaging with stakeholders, including local authorities, INGOs, and UN agencies.

·       Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse groups effectively.

·       Good understanding of community engagement, accountability to affected populations (AAP), safeguarding, gender equality, and protection principles.

·       Have relative experience working with reporting and data collection tools such as Kobo, Survey Monkey, Google forms etc. 

Skills and Abilities:

·       Strong understanding of local contexts, including cultural and political dynamics in Afghanistan.

·       Proficiency in English, Dari and Pashto. Proficiency in other languages will be considered a plus point.

·       Strong reporting, presentation, training facilitation, and budgeting skills.

  •     Strong inter-personal and communication skills, ability to work under stressful conditions, and able to meet tight deadlines.
