· Leads the overall management and strategic direction of Bamiyan Provincial Hospital to ensure efficient, effective, and accountable service delivery.
· Oversees hospital operations, administration, financial management, and resource utilization in accordance with AKHS policies and approved budgets.
· Provides leadership to clinical, nursing, administrative, and support teams to promote excellence in patient care and organizational performance.
· Develops and implements hospital operational plans aligned with AKHS strategic objectives.
· Ensures implementation of evidence-based clinical practices, protocols, and national and international healthcare standards.
· Oversees clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, mortality reviews, infection prevention, and patient safety program.
· Supports the Head of Clinical Services in strengthening collaboration with FMIC and other AKDN institutions for clinical governance, specialist support, and continuous professional development.
· Promotes continuous quality improvement through SafeCare, SBM, HNMC, AKDN Q-Compass, BFHI, Model Hygiene, and other accreditation initiatives.
· Develops the leadership and technical capacity of department heads, clinical managers, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams through coaching, mentoring, and continuous education.
· Facilitates continuing medical education, nursing development, in-service training, and e-learning program to strengthen workforce competencies.
· Oversees development and implementation of the Hospital Master Plan in collaboration with AKHS and AKDN stakeholders.
· Coordinates implementation of donor-funded projects and hospital development program while ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
· Monitors program performance and prepares periodic operational and management reports for AKHS leadership.
· Represents AKHS at Provincial Health Coordination Committee (PHCC), Provincial Development Committee (PDC), and other provincial coordination forums.
· Maintains effective partnerships with the Ministry of Public Health, Provincial Public Health Directorate, Governor's Office, WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, ICRC, MSF, IMC, AKF, and other partners to strengthen healthcare delivery.
· Coordinates with AKDN agencies to support integrated program implementation and institutional collaboration.
· Chairs or leads Senior Management Team (SMT), Hospital Coordination Board (HCB), and National Disease Surveillance and Response (NDSR) committees.
· Serves as an active member of Risk Management, Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), HMIS, Mortality Review, Drug and Therapeutics Committee (DTC), Quality and Patient Safety (QPS), Procurement, and other institutional committees.
· Ensures timely preparation and submission of operational, financial, quality, and performance reports.
· Monitors compliance with AKHS policies, Ministry of Public Health regulations, donor requirements, and healthcare standards.
· Maintains hospital safe care and other standard certifications and accreditation requirements.
· Performs any other duties assigned by the Line Manager or AKHS-A management.
