Duties and Responsibilities:
· Oversee and ensure the installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of medical equipment.
· Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal biomedical equipment functionality.
· Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning medical devices, maintaining detailed records of performance, repairs, and service schedules.
· Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments to minimize hazards associated with medical devices.
· Train hospital staff on proper equipment use, handling, and maintenance.
· Provide technical support and guidance to clinical staff during equipment operation and troubleshooting.
· Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all biomedical equipment, including procurement, disposal, and lifecycle management.
· Track equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and repair history using a computerized maintenance management system.
· Prepare reports on equipment performance, downtime, and cost analysis for hospital management.
· Respond promptly to equipment failures or emergencies to minimize downtime and ensure patient safety.
· Develop and implement contingency plans for critical equipment failures.
· Coordinate with external service providers for specialized repairs and maintenance.
· Work closely with clinical staff, vendors, and other SDO engineering teams to ensure seamless equipment operation.
· Ensure all biomedical equipment supports high-quality patient care and safety.
· Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to hospital technology strategy.
· Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and standards of care, including accurate biomedical documentation and adherence to patient safety protocols.
· Coordinate with other hospital departments and staff members to address patient needs and ensure effective communication and workflow across the hospital.
· Escalate any alarming complaints/issues to the immediate supervisor.
· Undertake any other duty assigned by the immediate superior.
