About Welthungerhilfe:

Welthungerhilfe it is one of Germany's biggest non-governmental relief organizations. Non-profit making, politically independent and non-denominational, the organization is run by a Supervisory Board of honorary members under the patronage of the President of the Federal Republic of Germany. Its work is funded by private donations and public grants. Welthungerhilfe is working since the 1980’s continuously in Afghanistan and opened the first offices in 1992. Since this time Welthungerhilfe has implemented some 165 projects in Afghanistan. Main fields of Welthungerhilfe intervention in Afghanistan are emergency relief, food and nutrition security, rural and regional development and water and sanitation.

I. Objectives, duties, areas of responsibility

1. Objectives of the position

Implementation of project activities according to the specified deadlines and organisational, contractual and financial directives.

Depending on the specialist division, the Expert is responsible for carrying out procurement activities, implementing technical measures and / or implementing social components within the framework of the specified project assignment.

2. Duties and area of responsibility

2.1 Duties without own area of responsibility
· Implementation of specialist workshops
· Consultancy regarding the introduction, rehabilitation or maintenance of technical equipment, regarding social issues or any other areas in the focus of this position.
· Helps ensure adherence to quality standards in relevant fields
· Management and maintenance of technical equipment, if applicable
· Instruction and training of national staff
· Monitoring of the inventory management of relief supplies (incoming/outgoing goods, regular stock checks, resupply) and their distribution to the target groups or project locations
· Documentation of relevant technical and procurement processes in accordance with the co-financing agreement or Welthungerhilfe directives (such as Assignment Allocation Regulation, AAR).
· Preparation of project progress reports
· Fulfillment of any other tasks which are assigned by the management and correspond in general with the character of this position.

2.2 Specific Activities and duties of the position

Implementation of project relevant activities based on community context and needs.
Assist livelihood specialist in developing of training materials and awareness sessions for community people.
Conduct training/awareness sessions at community level.
Supervise and provide techincal recommendation for small buisness owners to improve their production and market.
Conduct market linkage events at district and provincial level and follow up strenghtning linkage between producer, trader and consumers.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor degree in Agriculture, Economics, Community Development, vetrinary, animal husbandary or related area.
Fluency in local languages (Dari and Pashto, Uzbiki would be an advantage).
Having at least two years similar working experience with (I)NGOs
fair computer and English skill
Candidates with livelihood, business development or relevant discipline will be given the priority.
Priority will be given to local candidates, like for Samangan candidates who are the residents of Dara-e-Suf Bala and Dara-e-Suf Payin districts.
