Job Descriptions:

Position Summary:

The Media Officer is responsible for planning, creating, and managing high-quality visual and digital content to support the organization’s communication, branding, fundraising, and awareness objectives.
The role includes videography, video editing, graphic design, motion graphics creation, social media management, and field travel to project locations across provinces for documentation of activities, success stories, and humanitarian interventions.

Reports to: Media Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capture high-quality photos and videos of organizational activities, project operations, events, and beneficiary stories, ensuring strong visual documentation of all projects.
  • Travel to provincial project sites for field coverage, and real-time documentation of ongoing activities.
  • Produce, edit, and finalize professional video content including documentaries, promotional videos, campaign materials, ensuring alignment with organizational and donor standards.
  • Develop motion graphics and animated content as per organization digital communication needs.
  • Design a wide range of communication and visibility materials such as social media posts, reports, brochures, banners, infographics, presentations, certificates, and campaign visuals.
  • Assist in managing social media platforms by planning, scheduling, and publishing engaging content across channels.
  • Develop human-interest stories, success stories, campaign narratives, and multimedia content for donors, partners, and public awareness.
  • Support internal and external reporting requirements through visual storytelling, including annual reports, newsletters, and donor communication materials.
  • Collaborate closely with program and field teams to identify content opportunities and ensure timely documentation of project activities and impact.
  • Maintain consistency of organizational branding across all digital and print media outputs, ensuring compliance with communication and donor guidelines.
  • Provide creative input and ideas for campaigns, awareness initiatives, and organizational visibility strategies.
  • Perform any other media-related tasks assigned by the supervisor or management.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in media production, and digital content management, preferably in NGOs/INGOs.
  • Strong experience in videography, photography, and field media documentation.
  • Proven expertise in Adobe Suite such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After effects, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of social media strategy, content planning, and platform management.
  • Ability to travel frequently to provinces and remote project locations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, Dari, and Pashto preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
