Purpose of the Role
The Content Producer is responsible for developing and producing high-quality content for BBC Media Action programmes in Afghanistan.
The role focuses on scripting, recording, editing, and delivering engaging content across radio and digital platforms, in line with agreed editorial direction and production plans.
The Content Producer works closely with the Senior Content Producer and production team to support the delivery of key weekly programmes, including Darman and Pewand.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Produce high-quality content across radio and digital platforms
- Develop and write scripts in Dari and/or Pashto for programmes and segments
- Contribute content ideas based on programme themes and audience needs
- Participate in field and studio recordings, ensuring good audio and content quality
- Edit audio content using relevant tools (e.g. Adobe Audition)
- Ensure content meets BBC Editorial Guidelines, including accuracy and impartiality
- Work closely with Assistant Producers and presenters to support content production
- Provide input and feedback on scripts and recorded material
- Support the weekly production process, ensuring tasks are completed on time
- Coordinate with team members to meet production deadlines
- Engage with contributors and interviewees as required for programme production
- Ensure content reflects the diversity and realities of Afghan audiences
- Support compliance with BBC Editorial, Legal, Safeguarding, and Health & Safety guidelines
- Identify opportunities to improve content quality and production processes
