Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations, ensure accuracy in reporting, and support strategic financial decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership capabilities, solid experience in accounting and finance, and proven expertise in trading and import/export environments.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Manage daily accounting operations and financial reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Generate income statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss reports
- Report on company financial health and liquidity
- Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations
Banking & Transactions Management
- Oversee all credit and debit transactions
- Manage domestic and international bank transfers
- Supervise cash deposits, withdrawals, and MSP transactions
Documentation & Compliance
- Manage custom clearance documents, including BOLs and required banking documents
- Ensure proper documentation, filing, and backup of all financial records
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and financial regulations
Accounting Operations
- Supervise recording of purchase and sale transactions
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable reconciliation
- Monitor customer and debtor accounts
- Ensure accurate calculation of profit and loss per transaction
- Conduct internal and quarterly audits of financial records
Inventory & Trade Accounting
- Monitor inventory and stock movements
- Ensure accurate accounting of purchase and sale of goods (especially grains)
- Apply knowledge of weight, rate, and unit conversion (kg, ton)
- Manage costing including transportation, customs, and exchange costs
- Ensure proper accounting for import/export transactions
Budgeting, Tax & Cash Flow Management
- Monitor cash flow, expenses, and budgeting
- Prepare and manage company budgets
- Perform monthly and quarterly tax calculations (BRT & payroll taxes)
- Ensure timely tax compliance and payments
Leadership & Coordination
- Supervise and guide accounting staff
- Coordinate with auditors and external stakeholders
- Report directly to the CEO / Finance Director
- Improve financial systems, controls, and processes
- Support team development and knowledge sharing
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting/finance
- Strong background in trading, import/export accounting is highly preferred
- Experience in purchase and sale accounting and invoice recording
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, SAP, or similar accounting software
- Strong command of Microsoft Office
- Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements and reports
- Familiarity with banking systems and international transactions
Language Requirements
- Fluency in Dari, Pashto and English
- Knowledge of Russian is an advantage
