Under direct supervision of the Project Manager, the incumbents will be responsible for running the all-districts construction activity including planning, communications & implementation.
Conduct topographic surveys using Total Station, GPS, Auto Level, and other surveying instruments for structures such as check dams, trenches, terraces, ponds and watershed areas.
· Perform hydrological and hydraulic studies to evaluate watershed characteristics, runoff, erosion, and flood risks using tools like HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, GIS, and Auto CAD Civil 3D.
· Develop land use plans, erosion control strategies, and soil conservation measures to protect natural resources and improve land productivity.
· Collect and record accurate field data required for the design and implementation of watershed management structures.
· Use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for watershed delineation, land use mapping, and to support design and monitoring activities.
· Prepare detailed engineering drawings, cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and technical specifications for construction works.
· Oversee and monitor field implementation of watershed and design projects to ensure compliance with engineering standards and project timelines.
· Support the engineering team by providing detailed survey drawings, coordinates, and elevation data for design and planning purposes.
· Ensure that designs comply with environmental, social, and safety guidelines, and integrate climate change adaptation and resilience practices.
· Prepare technical reports, progress updates, monitoring data, and as-built documentation for project deliverables.
· Review detailed survey and design for the KRO projects prepared by engineering team.
· Coordinate with government bodies, NGOs, communities, and other stakeholders for the planning and execution of watershed development water harvesting initiatives.
· Prepare base maps, contour maps, and cross-sections using GIS and Auto CAD software to aid in the design and monitoring process.
· Mark and layout the exact locations and dimensions of structures like check dams, trenches, terraces and ponds in the field according to the design.
· Calculate earthwork quantities and material estimates required for excavation, filling, and construction activities.
· To ensure projects designs are in full compliance with Donor’s requirements.
· To ensure project delivery as per time schedule, budget and specification.
· Monitor the project activities in accordance with activities plan especially in project implementation, time passed progress, quality control progress and physical progress.
· Monitor the progress of construction work and ensure the implementation is as per the approved layout and survey data.
· Assist in site supervision by verifying levels, gradients, slopes, and alignments during the construction of watershed structures.
· Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and community members to ensure survey accuracy and smooth execution of the project.
· Prepare and maintain detailed survey reports, field books, and documentation for each site.
Other
· Participate in training workshops, meetings, project events held in any provinces.
· Visit project sites and monitor all activities in targeted districts.
· Respect and adore all policies of KRO code of conduct.
· Maintain 100% transparency and accountability.
· Any other task assigned by the management.
