Mahboba’s Promise is an Australian non-profit organisation committed to supporting vulnerable women and children in Afghanistan. It was founded in 2001 by Mahboba Rawi, an Afghan refugee who later became an Australian citizen. Having personally endured the hardships of war and displacement, she established the organisation to bring hope and practical support to those affected by decades of conflict and instability.
Over the years, Mahboba’s Promise has developed schools, shelters, and health clinics across Afghanistan, while also providing sponsorship programs for widows and orphans. Its initiatives focus on delivering education and safe housing for children, vocational training and employment pathways for women, and improved access to healthcare and community support services.
More than two decades on, Mahboba’s Promise continues to be recognised as a trusted and impactful organisation, creating meaningful and sustainable change for communities across Afghanistan.
