Job Description:
1. Quality Assurance and Monitoring
Oversee and monitor the production process to ensure adherence to quality standards such as ANSA, ASTM, GOST, & IS codes.
Conduct regular inspections of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products.
Verify chemical composition and mechanical properties of the steel.
2. Testing and Analysis
Perform tests such as tensile strength, elongation, bend/rebend tests, and yield stress tests.
Oversee spectro chemical analysis of billets and rebar’s.
Monitor dimensional tolerances like diameter, length, weight per meter, and surface finish.
3. Process Optimization
Identify and address process inefficiencies to improve product quality.
Collaborate with the production team to adjust parameters like temperature, rolling speed, and cooling rates.
4. Documentation and Reporting
Maintain detailed records of test results, inspections, and quality checks.
Prepare quality reports for management and external audits.
5. Team Coordination
Train and guide operators and technicians on quality standards and best practices.
Collaborate with other departments like production, maintenance, and procurement to enhance product quality.
6. Calibration and Maintenance
Ensure testing equipment and tools are calibrated and maintained regularly.
Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure uninterrupted production quality.
7. Reports
Production Quality Data: Record dimensions (diameter, length, weight per meter), rib and surface conditions of rebar.
Mechanical Property Reports: Document tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and bend/rebend test results.
Heat Reports: Track quality parameters for each heat and compare them against specifications.
Raw Material Inspection: Document the quality of billets used for rolling, including chemical composition and surface defects.
Lab Testing Reports: Prepare reports on chemical analysis, tensile tests, bend/rebend tests, and other mechanical tests.
Daily and monthly reports: Daily and monthly reports of (standard, non-standard, cut pace, miss roll, cropend, burning lost and other wastages).
