Position Summary:
The Senior Child Protection Officer leads and manages multi-donor child protection projects, ensuring quality support to orphans and vulnerable children.The role oversees planning, budgeting, monitoring, reporting, and donor compliance.
It ensures safeguarding and child protection principles are integrated across all activities and coordinates with key stakeholders. The position supports fundraising through proposal development and identification of new funding opportunities.
It contributes to the growth and strengthening of the child protection department.
Reports to: Program Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the overall implementation of child protection projects funded by multiple donors.
- Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of assistance to orphans and vulnerable children, including education support,
supplies and other project activates based on available funding.
- Oversee project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure efficiency and donor compliance.
- Coordinate closely with donors, partners, schools, and relevant stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery.
- Prepare and submit accurate narrative and financial reports in line with donor requirements and deadlines.
- Monitor project progress, outputs, and outcomes, ensuring accountability and adherence to child protection standards.
- Ensure safeguarding, child protection, and protection principles are integrated into all project activities.
- Conduct needs assessments, monitoring visits, and evaluations to inform program improvement.
- Maintain proper project documentation, records, and beneficiary data in line with organizational policies.
- Represent the organization in coordination meetings, clusters, and relevant forums related to child protection.
- Identify funding opportunities and contribute to fundraising strategies for child protection programs.
- Lead the development of concept notes and proposals for new and existing donors.
- Support the expansion and strengthening of the child protection department and its strategic direction.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, donor regulations, and national laws.
- Travel to provinces as per requirement of the child protection project.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management related to program development.
