Job Descriptions:

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement the project's Gender and Social Inclusion (GESI) strategy to achieve targets for women and youth participation and benefit.
  • Mainstream gender, youth, disability, and social equity considerations into all project activities, training materials, and monitoring tools.
  • Conduct social inclusion analyses and provide tailored coaching, mentorship, and networking support to women and youth entrepreneurs.
  • Ensure all project activities comply with international social safeguard standards, particularly those relating to inclusion, non-discrimination, and "do no harm".
  • Lead the collection, analysis, and reporting of sex and age-disaggregated data and other GESI indicators.
  • Develop and deliver specialized, culturally sensitive training modules on women's economic empowerment, leadership, and overcoming socio-cultural barriers in business.
  • Establish and facilitate Women Business Councils or peer-support groups in target provinces to create safe spaces for networking, learning, and advocacy.
  • Conduct regular field monitoring to assess the meaningful participation of women, youth, and other marginalized groups in project activities and decision-making.
  • Lead the project's compliance with specific social safeguard standards, including those related to labor conditions, community health and safety, and prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA).
  • Document and produce a series of compelling case studies and success stories that highlight the project's impact on inclusive growth and social transformation.
Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in mainstreaming gender and social inclusion in livelihood, agribusiness, or enterprise development projects in Afghanistan.
  • Donor Experience: Specific experience applying international gender and social safeguard policies (e.g., World Bank ESS) in project implementation is required.
  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of the Afghan socio-cultural context and proven ability to design and deliver sensitive, effective inclusion programming.
  • Languages: Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto is essential. Excellent English writing and communication skills are required.
