Job Descriptions:

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide overall strategic leadership, technical direction, and management for a large-scale agribusiness support project.
  • Serve as the primary liaison and maintain daily coordination with the project's main international client and stakeholders.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and quality assurance of detailed project work plans, methodologies, and monitoring & evaluation frameworks.
  • Ensure the timely and quality delivery of all technical deliverables (Inception Report, Capacity Assessments, Business Plans, Final Report).
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a multi-disciplinary team of national and international specialists.
  • Ensure strict compliance with international environmental and social safeguard standards throughout all project activities.
  • Prepare and submit the comprehensive Inception Report, detailing the final work plan, team deployment schedule, and monitoring tools for client approval.
  • Conduct regular field supervision missions to monitor service delivery quality and provide direct support to field teams on complex cases.
  • Chair weekly technical team meetings and monthly progress reviews, preparing consolidated monthly and quarterly progress reports.
  • Manage the project budget and human resources, ensuring optimal fund utilization and resolving administrative or operational bottlenecks.
  • Serve as the lead author for the project's Final Report, synthesizing outcomes, impacts, lessons learned, and providing forward-looking sustainability recommendations.
Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Agricultural Economics, Development Studies, or a closely related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in project management and team leadership, with at least 5 years specifically in providing Business Development Services (BDS) to agribusinesses or MSMEs.
  • Donor Experience: Proven track record of successfully managing and implementing large, complex donor-funded projects in Afghanistan or similar fragile contexts. Experience with matching grant mechanisms is highly advantageous.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in business plan development, value chain analysis, and MSME capacity building.
  • Languages: Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory. Proficiency in Dari and/or Pashto is required.
