Afghan German Bakhtar Company (AGB) is seeking to recruit three highly qualified Project Managers to lead major infrastructure initiatives in the areas of Road Construction, Railway Development, and Dam Engineering (Road Project Manager, Railway Project Manager and Dam Project Manager). These positions require individuals with exceptional technical expertise, proven leadership ability, and extensive experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects from conception to completion.
General Role - Project Manager
The Project Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of complex infrastructure projects, ensuring that all works are executed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with technical, safety, and environmental standards.
- Road Project Manager
The Road Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of road construction and rehabilitation projects. The role requires strong project management expertise, familiarity with highway design and construction standards, and the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.
The road project manager should manage the full project lifecycle — from feasibility studies and design to construction and project closeout, coordinate with government agencies, contractors, engineers, and consultants. Additionally, the project manager should have minimum Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (PhD’s and Master’s preferred).
- Railway Project Manager
The Railway Project Manager will lead the design, construction, and commissioning of railway infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, and operational standards. The role requires experience in rail systems, project coordination, and regulatory compliance within the transportation sector.
The railway project manager should oversee planning and execution of rail infrastructure, signaling, and track projects, manage multidisciplinary teams including civil, electrical, and mechanical engineers, prepare and present project performance reports. Liaise with railway authorities, contractors, and consultants for technical and regulatory approvals. The project manager should have Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Railway Engineering, or related discipline (PhD’s and Master’s preferred).
- Dam Project Manager
The Dam Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, design coordination, construction supervision, and commissioning of dam and water infrastructure projects. The role involves ensuring project safety, structural integrity, and environmental compliance. The project manager should coordinate with geotechnical, hydraulic, and structural engineering teams The dam project manager should have educational degree in Civil, Hydraulic, or Geotechnical Engineering (PhD’s and Master’s preferred).

- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, supervisors, contractors, and laborers.

- Secure necessary project permits and approvals in coordination with relevant authorities.
8. Communication and Reporting
- Maintain clear and effective communication with clients, stakeholders, contractors, and government agencies.
- Prepare and deliver regular progress updates, performance reports, and technical documentation.
9. Problem Solving and Decision Making
- Identify and address on-site technical and operational challenges promptly.

10. Project Delivery and Handover
