1. Background
The project "Seeds of Rebirth: A Pathway to Livelihood for Afghan Women – Agrifood Empowerment and Economic Growth", led by NOVE, is designed to support female-headed households in rural Afghanistan by improving food security and income generation through small-scale farming and agro-food entrepreneurship. A central pillar of the project is the promotion of women-led food processing activities, providing women in Nangarhar and Laghman with the skills and tools to transform agricultural products into marketable goods.
Job Requirements:
Main Responsibilities of Livestock vaccinator:
Administer vaccines to cattle, goats, according to the vaccination schedule.
Assist in identification and registration of livestock prior to vaccination.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and cold chain maintenance of vaccines.
Restrain animals safely and compassionately during the vaccination process.
Record and report data accurately, including number of animals vaccinated, species, location, and any adverse reactions, and direct report to Nove onlus veterinary expert
Educate livestock owners on vaccination importance, animal health practices, and disease prevention.
Monitor for and report suspected outbreaks or irregular animal health conditions and report to Nove onlus veterinary expert.
Participate in refresher training sessions and team coordination meetings.
Maintain equipment and ensure proper hygiene and safety practices during vaccination.
Support other veterinary services when required (e.g., treatment, awareness sessions).
