Job Descriptions:

Job Purpose:

The Midwife works in the HSC to predominantly deliver RMNCH care services to women. She assumes responsibility and accountability for their practice, applying up-to-date knowledge and skills in caring for each woman and family.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. The implementation of Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (RMNCH) activities.  Ensure quality RMNCH service delivery at HF levels.
  2. Coordinate RMNCH and IYCF activities with relevant Government Directorates, Basic Package of Health Service (BPHS), and INGO/ NGOs at the provincial level.
  3. Regularly attend the RMNCH committee meeting at the provincial level and adjust the RMNCH activities with the new approach.
  4. Undertake regular supportive supervision at the project site and provide on-the-job coaching and training for the MHTs staff to promote RMNCH and IYCF-E activities.
  5. Conduct a needs assessment and identify the area of need for improvement, and organize the capacity building plan for the RMNCH and IYCF-E staff. 
  6. Collect RMNCH data from the project team for further analysis and submission to the Project Officer and Project coordinator, and PPHD/MoPH on a timely basis.
  7. Meet regularly with beneficiary communities and leaders to ensure project effectiveness and community involvement in decision-making on the services.
  8. Participate in capacity building activities for training of health facility staff on RMNCH, research, professional organization, and related committees and in continuing education opportunities.
  9. Perform any other task relevant to the scope of work as assigned by the line manager
  10. Provide monthly activities report.
  11. Work closely with the International Medical Corps program teams, including other sectors, to develop applicable materials on protection, participation, health education, environmental protection etc.
  12. Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives; continuous quality improvement initiative; safety, environmental, and infection prevention standards.
  13. Identify and report immediately any problem that interferes in the delivery of services or in achieving the program objectives to her/his immediate supervisor.
  14. Support the HF staff in the implementation of IP guidelines.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

Graduation from a midwifery, nursing, or medical faculty.

Experience:

A minimum of 1 year of professional experience working in a similar or PHC supervisory position.

Competency :

Strong interpersonal, networking, and communication skills.

Speaking skills: Pashto and Dari. Familiarity with computer and  English will be an added value
