Job Descriptions:

Purpose of the Position

The CFAC Mobilizer couple will be responsible for mobilizing, sensitizing, training, and supporting Community Food Assistance Committees (CFACs) at the community level under WFP’s SO1 project. They will work closely with CFACs to enhance community participation, ensure accountability, and strengthen community ownership of food assistance interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Adhere to humanitarian principles of neutrality, impartiality, and non-discrimination while maintaining respectful behavior toward beneficiaries, colleagues, and community members.
  2. Follow ASIO’s code of conduct, child protection, safeguarding, gender equality, safety, and other relevant policies and procedures.
  3. Facilitate the establishment, reactivation, and strengthening of CFACs in target communities in line with WFP’s community engagement guidelines.
  4. Conduct regular trainings and refresher sessions for CFAC members on roles, responsibilities, protection principles, gender equality, inclusion, and accountability mechanisms.
  5. Organize community sensitization sessions on project objectives, targeting criteria, rights and responsibilities of beneficiaries, and WFP’s feedback and complaint mechanisms.
  6. Maintain close coordination and communication with community leaders, CFAC members, CDCs, religious leaders, and local authorities to ensure smooth implementation of project activities.
  7. Assist in collecting data related to CFAC performance, community issues, and project monitoring using digital tools such as MoDA/KoBo.
  8. Support communities in understanding and using WFP’s complaint and feedback channels; record and report any community feedback to the supervisor promptly.
  9. Support the project team in food or cash distribution processes, ensuring CFAC participation in beneficiary verification, crowd management, and fair distribution.
  10. Identify challenges or conflicts arising during project implementation and facilitate solutions through CFACs and community dialogue.
  11. Prepare and submit daily/weekly activity reports on CFAC meetings, trainings, and community engagements to the Project Supervisor.
  12. Work as a couple to ensure balanced engagement with both male and female CFAC members and community groups.
  13. Serve as a liaison between ASIO/WFP and the community, ensuring two-way communication and trust-building.
  14. Perform any other relevant tasks assigned by the Project Supervisor or management team.
Job Requirements:

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum high school graduate (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in community mobilization, social work, or humanitarian projects.
  • Good communication and facilitation skills in local languages (Dari and Pashto).
  • Respectful, gender-sensitive, and capable of working with diverse communities.
  • Experience in working with WFP or CFAC-related projects is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of smartphone applications (e.g., MoDA/KoBo) is an advantage.
